@grmpyprogrammer @datawench @ramsey I don't mind Slack for work (though I'm no longer on a team that uses it), but I cannot stand it for things like Meetup groups or open source projects. They don't even pretend to want to serve those use cases, and better options have existed for decades. Probably conferences too.
