@kingbdogz @is_kurai Don’t forget over a hundred languages to support.
@KarthikBQ @kingbdogz Music discs are essential. You make a data pack with one of the songs set to Sabotage by the Beastie Boys or almost anything by Run the Jewels and then you set that up to play during the dragon fight.
@kingbdogz What if only named items triggered persistence? Makes it slightly more expensive but still cheap to do in farms, and rewards players for naming their gear (a mob won't pick it up and de-spawn with it).
@kingbdogz This approach makes time less of a factor, introduces a new challenge in survival, and a new twist for competition (opponents can get your stuff if they're willing to risk taking some damage for it). It values preparedness and strategy over speed.
@kingbdogz I think a challenge to get your items back is a good idea, but a five-or-maybe-more-minute race feels arbitrary. What if on death, a new mob spawned that would hold your items and drop them randomly as it takes damage. If you die again before defeating it, it would despawn.
@kingbdogz I think there is a bit of a thrill that comes along with the race to get back to your items in time, and the payoff can feel pretty great. That said, not knowing *where* you died (the F3 screen shouldn't be critical to gameplay) is not at all fun.
